Tenuta

A bag that does not follow. It holds.

Tenuta is a structured handbag for the woman who does not seek attention but commands it. The body is cut from vegetable-tanned full-grain leather in a single deep cognac: the colour of something that does not age, but matures. The form is trapezoidal, with a flat base and squared opening. Contained, resolved, making no concessions to ornament.

Across the front face runs the Fibula: the horizontal band of hand-finished bronze, flush-mounted across the full width of the body. No raised edge. No visible seam. At the exact centre of the band, the bronze opens into a perfect circle: the medallion that anchors the composition and marks the piece as unmistakably part of the series. The brushed radial finish of the disc reads as a signature, not a decoration.

The edges are hand-beveled and burnished with traditional edge paint, compressed and sealed to a slightly darker tone than the face leather. The top centre turn-lock in hand-finished bronze requires one movement and one decision. The corner protectors at the base are cast bronze, hand-finished. All hardware carries the same tone as the Fibula band: one material decision, distributed across the entire architecture of the bag.

The short rolled-leather handles, saddle-stitched in a doubled row with waxed linen thread, are still firm when new. They take the shape of the hand in time. The detachable adjustable shoulder strap with bronze swivel clasps allows two ways to carry the same object.

The interior is lined in smooth ivory-toned leather, divided by a single partition. The space does not expand. It is respected.

Tenuta does not commemorate. It carries.
